I believe that good art speaks a universal language. Being an artist enables me to communicate with people speaking different languages and having diverse backgrounds. What I create is the representation of my personal interpretation of the cultures and environment that I have lived in.

I have been interested in exploring how the manipulations of human figures in art affect our feelings. To me, a human being is multiple-sided; one is always in the state of in-between, having the inseparable aspects of solidness and fluidness, materiality and spirituality, growing and dying, and reality and imagination. I focus on representing human figures and human-related forms by accentuating certain features―such as emotions, actions, and expressions.

My representations are not literal, but I aim to manipulate my subjects in ways that give psychological impressions of the signalized feelings and movements. My subjects often have unnatural body structures, are parted and assembled with un-human elements, or are abstracted into less-identifiable human forms. They are often expressively colored, and some of their particular actions are significantly repeated and emphasized. In my works, my subjects and their actions are kept ambiguous. I believe that this ambiguity has the greatest emotional effect on my viewers, and provides them with space to think freely.
